( palabras)
First qualifying of the year has been opened with the biggest innovation of this year: indeed, Moto3 and Moto2 will use the same format of MotoGP, having Q1 and Q2.
So, at first we had Moto3 riders competing to get the last four spots to get into last qualifying, with Celestino Vietti being the fastest rider.
Slipstreams played a decisive role in this phase, while other riders, like Marcos Ramirez and Ayumu Sasaki tried to get last shot, but it was not effective as long as they were both out of Q2.
Jaume Masia did his best on trying to get a good lap, but he is still suffering from injury and he could not be able to do a time due to a crash.
The other guys who find a spot into Q2 were Ogura, Raul Fernandez and John McPhee; all this guys were just separated from two tenths of a second.
In the decisive round, Aron Canet was able to did a great lap and get the pole position; the Spaniard is the only one to have a lap time under the 2.06.
Second place for Lorenzo Dalla Porta, who snatches a good place during his last chance and he is just two tenths of a second slower than Canet.
First row is closed by Kaito Toba, really close to Dalla Porta; just 0.029s separate them.
John McPhee is 4th after Migno's lap has been cancelled; the Italian was able to do a great lap in his last chance but he went over track limits and ended in 17th.
Great job from Niccolò Antonelli after an early crash: SIC58 Squadra Corse rider was still able to join the track again and finished with 5th time.
Albert Arenas is 6th with a gap of over half of a second, while third row is composed by Tony Arbolino, Celestino Vietti and Vicente Perez.
Romano Fenati is 11th; probably him and the team made a mistake, as long as he joined the track too late in the final minutes and he could not do a lap time.
