After a thrilling race on Sunday at the Qatar Grand Prix, we can look forward to another night time race at the Losail International Circuit for the second round of the MotoGP championship.

Maverick Vinales took victory at the QatarGP which was the second time he has won the first round of the championship since his debut for the Yamaha team in 2017. Vinales was joined on the podium by the two Ducati riders of Johann Zarco and Pecco Bagnaia.

This weekend, the circuit will host the Doha Grand Prix under the lights and we can expect more fantastic racing.

The circuit itself is 5.4km long with 16 corners and the straight is over a kilometre in length - where the Ducati bikes can show their top speed.

The MotoGP grid will travel 73.5 miles around the track during 22 laps of the race.

Valentino Rossi has the most wins around the Losail circuit out of the current MotoGP grid but is tied on wins with former Australian Grand Prix rider Casey Stoner. He will be looking to improve on his performance last weekend where he finished the race in 12th place with his new team.

Vinales already has two pole positions to his name at this circuit and will be looking to make it a third his weekend as he hunts down another win in 2021.

Reigning World Champion Joan Mir narrowly missed out on a podium on Sunday when he was beaten to the line by the two Ducatis behind him and finished in fourth place. Mir had a strong race and made his way through the pack on his Suzuki with his teammate Alex Rins finishing in sixth place.

Suzuki showed how strong they were during the QatarGP so they could be strong contenders for the podium or even the race win this Sunday.

Fabio Quartararo had a strong debut for his new factory Yamaha team but will be looking to improve this weekend as his teammate took top spot on the rostrum. Another debut that was impressive was that of Bagnaia on the factory Ducati. He qualified in pole position on Saturday and managed to finish the race in third with strong Ducati power behind him.

Pol Espargaro managed to finish in the top ten on the Repsol Honda and rookie Enea Bastianini rounded out the top 10 on the Avintia with an impressive race last weekend.

KTM seemed to struggle during the race but the factory bikes managed to finish in the points in 13th and 14th.

Vinales now leads the way in the championship after the first round but can anyone challenge him in the upcoming DohaGP?

The race weekend gets underway on Friday with FP1 at 15:40 local time.
