Frenchman Fabio Quartararo on pole with the record-breaking lap time at Mugello as his teammate could only manage thirteenth spot on the grid for the Italian GP

Qualifying session was delayed due a grave incident in the prior Moto3 Q2 session, as Jason Rider from Switzerland was airlifted to hospital in Florence for evaluation and checkups.

As the session kicked off it was Jack Miller on his factory Ducati who set the pace and mounted fastest laps lap after lap and set the benchmark time only to be beaten by Aleix Espargaro who after getting a slip stream from Bagnaia went on to top of the timing sheets with the lap time of 1:45.651.

Fabio Quartarao on his M1 Yamaha was fast enough to beat the time set by Aleix and after topping FP4 went fastest with the lap time of 1:45.481.

After his first runs Fabio Quartarao tighten his reins and blasted the time sheets with the record-breaking lap time of 1:45.187 that time held the ground till chequered flag and gave Fabio Quartararo his fourth straight pole.

0.230 was Franceso Bagnaia who earlier set the lap record but this time he could only come within three tenths of the lap time.

In the closing session Johann Zarco lit the timing sheets and went onto grab the third spot on the grid on his Pramac Ducati.

Moto GP scored a debut front row on his Aprilia in fourth.

Jack Miller with his 1:45.598 completed the top five ahead of KTM duo of Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira, who were ahead of Suzuki duo of Alex Rins and world champion Joan Mir, Joan Mir was 0.889s down on the pole lap.

Franco Morbidelli completed the top ten, with top ten only covered by 0.0938s.

Maverick Vinales was the biggest upset of the day as after getting crashed in FP3 he only managed thirtheetnh spot on the grid in Q1 behind Honda duo of Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro.

Valentino Rossi on other SRT Yamaha could only manage a Nineteenth spot on the grid with his Yamaha 1.583s down on his team-mate.
