Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli unveiled their new bike for 2020 season after a stunning debut year for the Team who conquered independent Title and rookie of the year Title with the French
As done by Monster Yamaha and Suzuki Ecstar, Petronas Yamaha launches their new bike in Malaysia as well just one day before first day of pre-season MotoGP test in Sepang. Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli unveiled their Yamaha and both hope to improve a stunning 2019 where the Team clinched independent Title and rookie of the Year one with Fabio Quartararo, who made a superb rookie season.
Despite being a debut year for the Team, Malaysian crew was able to reach a lot of pole positions and made good races being really close to win in many occasion as Misano or Buriram with Fabio Quartararo, who was able to compete against Marc Marquez. Also Franco Morbidelli made some remarkable weekends, fighting for top positions and conquering some first rows on Saturdays.
Yamaha Petronas does not want to stop his development and kept working to improve their bike and on 2020 they will have Factory Yamahas at the start, the same of Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi. That is why Malaysian Team aims to do even better things than 2019 even if it will not be easy, but they surely can do it. The livery did not change too much compared to the previous one, having just more bright colors.
The two riders also said something at the Official presentation, starting from Franco Morbidelli: “I made here the Sepang 8-hour, I feel like I never made a break. We will use the same box of the 8-hour, it seems that nothing changed at all. The bike is just a little bit different and it looks promising. Finding good feeling and pace from the beginning it is going to be crucial. My level was good last year, but I want to improve this season. I worked really well during the winter, let’s see if I will be able to fight for the podium in many races”
Then was Fabio Quartararo’s turn: “I signed with Factory Yamaha for the next two season, but the most important thing is that I worked really hard during the winter to be ready for 2020. I cannot wait to start the test, I have to see the potential of the bike, but also of the other ones. The goal is giving the maximum and doing my best”
