#GermanGP | Alex Marquez from nightmare to heaven!
Stunning pole position for Alex Marquez who had to face Q1 but then made an impressive fast lap to secure first position ahead of Luca Marini and Marcel Schrotter
Moto2’s Q1 was a really tricky one this time with many good riders fighting for the 4 spots for the direct access to Q2. Alex Marquez, Jorge Navarro, Luca Marini and Sam Lowes had to face a tough first session of qualifying in which it was not that easy going out of it.
It was Jorge Navarro the best rider on track thanks to a great lap that secured a Q2 spot for him and first position with Sam Lowes, Luca Marini and Alex Marquez who got a spot for the last session of qualifying too. Marco Bezzecchi tried everything he could in his best qualifying of the season but was not able to snatch a place for Q2.
After avoiding a possible nightmare, Alex Marquez made an impressive lap to take Moto2 pole position at Sachsenring ahead of another guy who had to face Q1 who is Luca Marini, 2nd and followed by Marcel Schrotter, with the German closing first row.
4th place for Fabio Di Giannantonio ahead of Augusto Fernandez and Iker Lecuona, best KTM on time sheet with the Spaniard who had a good lap cancelled; Lecuona seems to be really fast and it could be a win contender for tomorrow’s race.
Good qualifying for Jorge Martin also, with Xavi Vierge, Remy Gardner and Lorenzo Baldassarri just behind, while Jorge Navarro signed 11th time at the end of the session ahead of championship leader Tom Luthi, who had hard times.
