Championship leader Lorenzo Baldassarri replicates his first win of the season in Qatar and wins the second race of the season ahead of Remy Gardner and Alex Marquez.

Moto2 race started with an immediate twist: an unlucky Xavi Vierge, who should have started from pole position, has been forced to retire before even starting due to a problem.

First lap saw so Tom Luthi starting well but going wide at the first corner, with Marcel Schrotter in first, followed by Alex Marquez. 

It was then a group of 4 riders fighting for the first positions, with Remy Gardner taking an early lead and trying to create a gap between him and the others.

In the middle of the race we had a lot of duels with the Australian replicating at every attacks from the rivals, while Tom Luthi and Sam Lowes crashed out at lap 6 and 7.

With 8 laps to do, it was then Lorenzo Baldassarri's turn to shine, with a first overtake on Alex Marquez first and on Marcel Schrotter the following lap.

Championship leader decided at lap 21 to do his final move on Remy Gardner to win the race with a strong move before turn 6. The Italian was able then to increase his lead and won the race. 

Meanwhile, Alex Marquez did his move too on Schrotter to take the podium, with the German losing many positions after that.

In the final lap, Baldassarri crosses the finish line in first place, with Gardner second and Marquez third.

Lecuona ended in fourth, ahead of Brad Binder, who won an hard fight against Luca Marini and Marcel Schrotter.
