After a thrilling qualifying session, Superbike’s race was even more entertaining with Magny-Cours race 1 who has probably been the funniest during the whole season. In the early stages we saw crazy battles between Michael Van Der Mark and Jonathan Rea, with the two who had immediately a contact but it was not the only one, as long as Tom Sykes, Chaz Davies and Leon Haslam joined the fight.

No one expected Sykes and Davies being that fast but it so it was and both Britons rider engaged battles with Rea, Van Der Mark and Razgatlioglu, who arrived in the group fighting for the victory quickly. No one had the pace to create a gap on the others and at the same time anyone was scared of nothing and tried crazy overtakes letting us seeing fantastic moves.

Anyway, unfortunately in the package errors can occur and Chaz Davies went wrong after few laps and hit Razgatlioglu crashing after a fantastic first part of the race; luckily, the Turkish stayed up and could keep his run, while Jonathan Rea, Tom Sykes and Michael Van Der Mark continued their journey into the win.

Sykes started to lose grip and position as usual in the second middle of the race, while Michael Van Der Mark saw the opportunity to run away and so he did, conquering one second of advantage from Rea and Razgatlioglu, who engaged a duel who was helpful for Dutch rider from Yamah to run away.

Reigning World Champion had better rhythm that the Turkish and seemed to be comfortable after winning the fight against Toprak, while Van Der Mark seemed to be the winner of Magny-Cours Race 1. We could not be more wrong than that as long as Kawasaki rider tried to catch up the Dutch after having created a little margin on Razgatlioglu.

The Briton was able to do it and with 3 laps to go was really close to Michael, who pushed a little bit too much and crashed giving us no chances of seeing a crazy duel for the victory, while even last podium position was not over, because Tom Sykes closed the gap on Loris Baz and made a late move to conquer 3rd position.

However, emotions were not over because even the fight for the victory was on, with Jonathan Rea who lost a lot of time in the final two laps and Razgatlioglu closed the gap on reigning World Champion, being able to make an impressive decisive winner overtake with few corners remaining to obtain career maiden victory. A stunning finale for Turkish rider who did not give up until the end and was able to conquer a fantastic victory on Jonathan Rea after being really close to it during the season.

Tom Sykes ended the podium ahead of Loris Baz who could be satisfied overall of his race being at the end first Yamaha on time sheet finishing ahead of Alvaro Bautista, with the Spaniard who struggled a lot. 6th place for Alex Lowes, followed by Leon Camier, Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty before finding Sandro Cortese who closes top 10. Last riders who got points are Jordi Torres, Tati Mercado, Michael Van Der Mark, who rejoined the race conquering some points, Michael Ruben Rinaldi and Alessandro Del Bianco.
