#USAWorldSBK | Jonathan Rea strikes again in Superpole Race, Bautista crashes again before red flag!
It is again Jonathan Rea who dominates in Laguna Seca ahead of Chaz Davies, while Alvaro Bautista crashes again in an incident that saw Toprak Razgatlioglu involved too
Laguna Seca’s weekend could not go any better for Jonathan Rea as long as reigning World Champion strikes again in Laguna Seca winning Superpole Race after being successful in Race 1 with title contender Alvaro Bautista crashing again scoring so 0 points also in the morning Race.
It was a chaotic race divided in two parts as long as first start saw an early crash with a contact between Alvaro Bautista and Toprak Razgatlioglu that saw both of them ending on the gravel and a few meters later we had another big crash at Corkscrew with Alessandro Del Bianco and JD Beach falling down.
Thankfully, no one was injured but Alvaro was not able to rejoin the race, with the Spaniard who was taken to the medical center but declared fit for Race 2. Toprak was more lucky with the team doing a great job on putting the Turkish back on track after red flag despite everything.
Restart saw Jonathan Rea getting immediately the lead ahead of Chaz Davies and Tom Sykes, but this time the Briton from Kawasaki was able to run away since early stages not letting any chance to number 7 of Ducati to make any move.
We did not have any single fight for second position also, with Davies who got a good gap on Tom Sykes who was never able even to catch Ducati rider with BMW guy who still claimed last podium position. Not result overall for Razgatlioglu finishing in 4th ahead of Leon Haslam and Alex Lowes.
