For the moment, it does not seem that Misano World SBK weekend is gonna be another total Alvaro Bautista’s dominance. The Spaniard is looking well for the moment but not that much to be able to perform another escape race. That means we could maybe have a battle, with Jonathan Rea and Michael Van Der Mark who seem to be a real contender for Ducati rider.

The most important thing now is understand how the Dutch is feeling after the big crash he suffered in the last minute of FP2 session, with Yamaha rider who is having some pain on the wrist but to be assessed further. Losing Michael from the fight for the victory due to an injury would be so bad for the show and for him firstly. On the other side, Jonathan Rea crashed too but all he had was just an heavy incident and reigning World Champions seems to have a really good race pace.

Jonathan and Alvaro’s rhythm is really similar if we compare their long runs and this could be really good for the races that we are going to see from tomorrow. Unluckily, Chaz Davies’ race pace does not look that good and for the moment the Briton from Ducati does not seem to be a competitor for the victory, but there is still FP3 session to make the last adjustments and same thing for Sam Lowes.

We should put an eye on the independent Yamahas as well, by the way Sandro Cortese has been really fast this afternoon and Marco Melandri showed a good pace and he is coming from a really good weekend in Jerez where he got 2 podiums, despite the crash in Race 3 where he destroyed Davies’ race too.

At the end, an unpredictable variable could change everything on Saturday as long as rain chances for tomorrow are not so high but there is the possibility of a rainy or 50-50 race. It would be a crazy one, with many outsider riders who could come out and have their chance to shine.
For sure, it is gonna be a great show, hoping that Micheal will be fine already for Saturday.
