#BritishGP | Quartararo Smashes Lap Record and Tops FP3
Fabio Quartararo tops the FP3 session and the combined times ahead of Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez.
On a sunny Saturday morning in Silverstone, Fabio Quartararo smashed the lap record and topped the timing sheets and combined practice times at the end of the FP3 session.
Quartararo topped the timing sheets with a 1.58.547 which is the quickest lap set around the Silverstone track.
Valentino Rossi made it a Yamaha one-two as he finished behind the young Frenchman.
Championship leader Marc Marquez finished the session in third place with Jack Miller and Danilo Petrucci behind in fourth and fifth.
Home favourite Cal Crutchlow finished sixth place. The other two Yamaha’s of Maverick Vinales and Franco Morbidelli finished seventh and eighth.
Takaaki Nakagami finished ninth and Aleix Espargaro rounded out the top ten that will go straight through to Q2.
Alex Rins finished in 11th place which means the Spaniard has to make his way through Q1 for qualifying.
Miguel Oliveira finished as top KTM bike in 12th place and Pol Espargaro finished 13th.
Andrea Dovizioso, who won the last race in Austria, finished the session down in 14th place and will also be a big name having to make way through Q1.
Johann Zarco finished in 15th place and Pecco Bagnaia finished 16th.
Tito Rabat, who had a horrid crash at the circuit last year, finished 17th.
MotoGP qualifying will start 14:10 local time.
