It is Xavi Vierge who gets his first pole position of the season, repeating the one he did in 2018. The Spaniard was just 0.011s faster than Marcel Schrotter and 0.012s than Sam Lowes.

But first of all, it was Simone Corsi in Q1 to get a spot for Q2, and so they did Enea Bastianini, Bo Bendsneyder and Andrea Locatelli.

During the first session of qualifying, Corsi was the only rider being able to perform a lap under 1.43, being faster than Bastianini for just 0.017s.

Then it was Q2 moment and Xavi Vierge has been the fastest rider on track with a great crono in his 3rd lap, which guaranteed him pole position ahead of Marcel Schrotter and Sam Lowes.

In second row there are Alex Marquez, just 0.035s far from the first one, followed by Tom Luthi and Brad Binder.

In 7th there is FP3 leader Remy Gardner, with championship leader Lorenzo Baldassarri 8th; the Italian has been really unlucky as long as his best lap which would have brought him into 5th place was cancelled due to exceeding track limits.

9th place for the best rookie of the day, Nicolò Bulega, faster even than his teammate Luca Marini, 13th.
