F1 | Sergio Perez's F1 future is on the ropes
The current Racing Point driver, Sergio Perez, affirmed that there has been some progress in his Formula 1 future, but he is not in rush to sign a new contract for the 2021 season.
Sergio Perez will be replaced by Sebastian Vettel in the next Formula 1 season after Racing Point has decided to activate an exit clause regarding his contract at the end of the year.

The Mexican driver was not looking for a place in another championship team when Racing Point finalized the decision, as he thought he would keep his place in the team, so now he is looking for a contract to stay on the grid.
Haas and Alfa Romeo would be the only teams that could grant him a seat for 2021 as neither of them has already finalized their line-up for next year.
Perez also specified that he would only sign the contract if the team would grant him a long-term one with the regulation changes in 2022.
After the Russian Grand Prix where his future was being talked about, Perez said that there has been progress regarding his presence in the next F1 season, but that he would not rush things.
“Who knows really, nothing is signed yet,
“But definitely there has been some progress so we will see in the coming weeks.
“As I said before, I think at this stage no-one is in any hurry, not the teams, not myself. So let's wait still. There’s a long way to go.” Perez said.
He also said, ahead of the Russian Grand Prix, that he would know in which team a potential option lay within a week.
At the moment, Haas is evaluating around 10 potential names, including Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean, regarding the two seats in 2021.
Haas team principal Gunther Steiner said that despite the experience of a driver like Sergio Perez, it was not easy to sign him up for coming season.
Even Alfa Romeo has not yet decided on next year's line-up, the Hinwil team also could be a potential option for the Mexican.
Also, if Perez wouldn't get any contracts for next season, McLaren declared they are interested in having him in their IndyCar team next year.
