Monaco GP | Charles Leclerc - "It's an honour to drive here"
The Monegasque is at his secod appearance at his home Grand Prix, the first one as a Ferrari driver.

The Monaco Grand Prix can be considered almost a home race to many Formula 1 drivers who live here, but only one is about to race in his born country.
Charles Leclerc is obviosuly the fan favourite here in Montecarlo, as fans ask him for a selfie or an autograph.
“A home Grand Prix is always a very special weekend,” he said, “and even more this weekend, obviously, coming here in full red with Ferrari, with also a chance to have a very good result, so we’ll push."
"Obviously we’ve had a difficult start to season,” continued Leclerc. “The low speed corners weren’t great in Barcelona but normally Monaco is pretty different. We’ll try to turn the things around. It’s not going to be easy but we’ll give it everything."
The first Free Practice Session went almost as planned for the Monegasque, who placed his Ferrari in 4th position. If the feeling was good during the first practice, it was not during the afternoon.
The Ferrari number 16 had some issues with the front tyres temperatures. An issue the team needs to fix as soon as possible, as Mattia Binotto recalled during his media session.
"Our biggest issues is the tyres' heating. We have to find the right working window." said the team principle.

The most important session in Monaco is qualifying: a good grid placement is worth half of the race, as the tight track makes it difficult to overtake and gain positions. Also, traffic doesn't make it easy.
Leclerc almost had the chance to win his first Formula 1 Grand Prix in Bahran, but his Ferrari abandoned him as he had to settle for his first podium.
To win here would be very special for him, here we he spent all his life.
“It’s a huge honour for me to be driving on these streets. It’s actually pretty weird, because these are the same streets… I took in the bus to go to school when I was five or six years old. So now to take them in a Formula 1 car feels special.”
The driver is also paying a huge tribute on his helment: his father, who passed away in 2017 and his friend Jules Bianchi.
