Valencia GP | Petrucci fastest in FP3 ahead of Marquez's FP1 time

It was Danilo Petrucci of Alma Pramac Ducati who managed to beat Marquez's yesterday time, as both Yamahas missed out on spot in the top ten.

Like previous sessions, the track was and rain was pouring down. It was Rossi who in effort to make directly into Q2 was pushing hard, in his effort to get into top 10 Rossi pushed a little bit too hard, with 15 minutes past into the session, causing him to crash at Turn 4.

Rins and Hafiz Syahrin were the only guys to improve on their yesterday time. But the Marquez’s benchmark of FP1 seemed impossible to beat.

With 24 minutes left on clock as the track started coming to the riders: It was Zarco who improved himself into top 10, pipping out Rins, his lap was almost 8 tenths of second slower than Marc Marquez’s FP1 time.

With almost half a session past Vinales was another rider to improve his yesterday’s time to earn him p7 after falling to p8. Followed by Dovizioso’s improvement to P3, indicating everyone about the improving conditions. On following lap he improved himself to P2.

Impressive lap by Franco earned him P10, and with six minutes left on the clock KTM of Pol Espargaro was fast enough to improve to P5 almost half a second shy of Marquez.

As the track was coming more to the riders it was Ducati of Petrucci who was able to beat Marquez’s benchmark with a lap time of 1:39.712.

In last minute dash to chequered flag it was Honda of Pedrosa which improved himself into top ten and Aleix Espargaro who after crashing managed to make it into top ten with a p8

Session was a nightmare for the Yamaha boys as they both missed out the top ten and have to go through Q1.

As the session closed it was Petrucci leading from Marquez whose yesterday time was enough to give him P.

Behind them was Dovizioso, Miller and Zarco completing the top 5 (combined times).

 

Crashers:

After an early crash from Rossi. Midway through the session Iannone crashed his Suzuki at T3 and with 12 minutes on the clock, Aleix Espargaro crashed his Aprilia at Turn 14.

After improving his yesterdays’ time Pirro dumped his Ducati with 4 minutes left on the clock and wasn’t able to make it back to the track.

Last minute crasher were Alex Rins and Jack Miller.
