#GermanGP | Quartararo Shines in overcast FP1

The ever-impressive rookie, Quartararo topped the opening session of the HJC Helmets Motorrad Grix Prix Deutschland this morning. Marquez followed closely in 2nd, with Rossi hot on their heels in 3rd. This morning’s FP1 session was overcast and dry, the forecast for this afternoon is to remain overcast.

Petronas SRT Yamaha’s contender for Rookie of the Year, Quartararo topped the opening session of the Dutch GP weekend, with a time of 1:21:390. Following closely in second was Repsol Honda’s, Marquez, who set a time of 1:21:464. In 3rd position was Rossi who set a time of 1:21:964.

This morning’s session left Yamaha’s Rookie of the Year contender, Quartararo top of the timesheets. Rossi got off to a flying start, placing 3rd for this morning’s FP1 session. Viñales showed pace throughout the session, finishing 5th, having set a time of 1:22:251. Morbidelli set a time of 1:22:512, placing him 13th, with improvements to be made for FP2.

The fastest Honda for this morning’s FP1 session of the German GP was Marquez who placed 2nd.  Nakagami, who has shown impressive form over the last few races, found himself in 9th, having set a time of 1:22:415. Britain’s Crutchlow placed 10th, with a time of 1:22:439. Repsol Honda’s Lorenzo will not be competing this weekend due to a back injury sustained during his FP1 crash at the Dutch GP. Honda test rider, Bradl will be stepping in for Lorenzothis weekend, he placed17th, in this morning’s FP1 session, setting a time of 1:22:729.

Top Suzuki in this morning’s session was Rins who placed 4thwith a time of 1:21:967. Rookie of the Year contender, Mir placed 19th, with a time of 1:22:856.

Ducati’s championship contender, Dovizioso placed 6th, having set a time of 1:22:282. Pramac Racing’s Miller placed 7th, having set a time of 1:22:365, a solid start to the weekend for the Australian. Reale Avintia’s Abraham placed 12th, with a time of 1:22:487. Petrucci, who has impressed over the last 4 races, and has just signed a contract extension for next year, placed 15th, having set a time of 1:22:566. Ducati’s contender for Rookie of the YearBagnaia found himself in 18th, setting a time of 1:22:729. Rabat found himself down in 21st position, setting a time of 1:22:898, with improvements to be made heading into FP2.

The fastest Aprilia for FP1 was Iannone with a time of 1:22:397, in 8th. A. Espargaro placed 14th, with a time of 1:22:543.

Top KTM for FP1, was P. Espargaro with a time of 1:22:458, placing him 11th. Zarco placed 16th, with a time of 1:22:705. Oliveira placed 19th, having set a time of 1:22:762. Syahrin placed 22nd, with a time of 1:23:957.

Top Rookie this session was Quartararo at the top of the timesheets, he will be looking to stamp his authority over this race weekend and continue his podium finishing success.
