We said yesterday that rain could have been a decisive variable in Misano World SBK weekend and it seems that we were not too far from the reality. The last session of free practice before Superpole saw SBK riders on track with a wet asphalt, where Loris Baz has been the fastest rider.

The French has been always competitive in this conditions, as happened in 2015 during MotoGP Misano Grand Prix or also in 2016 at Brno with Ducati Avintia where he had some really good results. Loris could be a real outsider if the track will not dry and it would be interesting to see if he would be able to fight for top positions.

Another guy who is really fast in wet conditions is Alessandro Del Bianco, who was really competitive in Imola during wet session as well and the Italian could perform well as it is a great opportunity for him to shine by the way in which his Honda is far from the perfection on dry asphalt. Del Bianco ended in 4th FP3 session and surely is hoping even for more rain to come.

Alex Lowes too is considerably fast in the rain and finished 2nd this morning session indeed. Yamaha rider during the final minutes of the session had also some record intermediate but he could not snatch first position from Loris Baz. The Briton is followed by Alvaro Bautista, who seems to does not care too much about dry and wet and he is fast also this morning as long as he ended in 3rd with three tenths of a second of gap from the leader.

His teammate Chaz Davies is always quite good in this conditions and finished in 7th, but his position could have been better if he did not make a mistake during a fast lap in which he had a record second intermediate. Before the Briton from Ducati we have Marco Melandri, 5th, and Leon Haslam, 6th.

Many riders did not even went on track, with Jonathan Rea, Michael Ruben Rinaldi, Schmitter, Mercado, Tom Sykes and Jordi Torres who did not make any single lap. Of course we do not see Michael Van Der Mark also as long as he has been declared unfit after the big crash he suffered yesterday in FP2 session.
