#RiminiWorldSBK | Jonathan Rea leads the way in FP1
First session of free practice saw Jonathan Rea ahead of everyone in the morning; Kawasaki rider is followed by Michael Van Der Mark and Alvaro Bautista
Reigning World Champion Jonathan Rea wants to come back to victory in Misano, after a not so bad weekend in Spain where he was never able to fight for the success, finishing behind the Yamahas as well. Kawasaki rider has been the fastest rider on track in the first session of free practice with 1.36.029, showing a consistent rhythm too, even if lap times are still far from record one (1.33.640 from Tom Sykes in 2018 SP2). A bit too far his teammate Leon Haslam, 8th with almost seven tenths of a second of gap from Rea.
Michael Van Der Mark keeps his good shape and ends 2nd this morning doing a fast lap in the final minutes of the session; Yamaha rider is two tenths of a second far from the top but he was able to improve his lap time in the end and so his teammate Sam Lowes did; the Briton is 4th and slower than 0.351s from FP1 leader.
Between the Yamahas we have Alvaro Bautista, who led the session in the first half; Championship Leader is really consistent and fast on race pace and in the last part of the track on a single lap, ending the session in 3rd with two tenths of a second of gap. Chaz Davies is not too far and seems to be more confident than two weeks ago in Jerez and finished 5th with a gap of half of a second.
The Briton from Ducati is faster than just 0.011s than Tom Sykes, 6th at the end with his BMW; 2018 poleman is followed by Marco Melandri, with the Italian who surely wants to get a good result in his home grand prix considering also he is coming in Misano in a good shape after a good weekend in Spain where he was able to get 2 podiums. 9th time for his teammate Sandro Cortese, with Toprak Razgatlioglu closing the top 10 with his Kawasaki.

Not the best session for Michele Pirro, who went out of the box after 15 minutes from the beginning of FP1 and crashed out in his first laps; Ducati test rider was still able to come back on track in the final minutes thanks to the great work of his mechanics.
