Qatar GP | Petrucci tops Warm Up under the floodlights
Petrucci topped this mornings WUP, ahead of this evening’s opening round of the 2019 MotoGP World Championship. Marquez and Rins rounded out the top 3.
Viñales has qualified on pole for todays race, this is his first back-to-back pole position since Misano and Aragon in 2017. Dovizioso has qualified in 2nd position, he has placed either 1st or 2nd for the last four years. Reigning World Champion, Marquez, who won his only MotoGP in Losail in 2014 from pole position, completes the front row. Top Independent Rider was Miller, who placed 4th. Making his premier class debut, Quartararo is the highest placed rookie, qualifying 5th.
Petrucci topped the session with a time of 1:54:807. Marquez closely followed in 2nd, with a time of 1:54:864. Rins rounded out the top 3 with a time of 1:54:943.
Top Yamaha was Viñales in 4th, with a time of 1:55:100. Morbidelli closely followed in 5th with a time of 1:55:177. Rossi set a time of 1:55:558, placing him 11th. Contender for Rookie of the Year, Quartararo placed 13th with a time of 1:55:663.
Top Ducati was Petrucci who topped the session. Dovizioso set a time of 1:55:286, which placed him 7th. Miller placed 8th with a time of 1:55:482. Ducati’s candidate for Rookie of the Year, Bagnaia, placed 12th, with a time of 1:55:635. Rabat, who makes his return from injury, placed 19th, with a time of 1:56:140. Abraham placed 21st, with a time of 1:56:558.
Top Suzuki was Rins who placed 2nd. Mir set a time of 1:55:843 placing him 16th.
Top Honda was Marquez in 2nd. Nakagami set a time of 1:55:247, placing him 5th. Crutchlow placed 14th with a time of 1:55:673. Lorenzo, who also returns from injury, and a nasty crash in yesterday’s FP3, placed 20th, with a time of 1:56:507.
Top KTM for this morning’s Warm Up was P. Espargaro with a time of 1:55:554, placing him 10th. Oliveira set a time of 1:55:829 placing him 15th. Zarco, who makes his KTM debut, placed 18th, with a time of 1:56:105. Syahrin placed 22nd, with a time of 1:56:617.
Top Aprilia was A. Espargaro setting a time of 1:55:494, he placed 9th. Iannone set a time of 1:55:931 placing him 17th. Test rider, Smith placed 23rd, with a time of 1:56:635.
Top Rookie was Bagnaia in 12th position with a time of 1:55:635.
The weather for this evening’s race at Losail, looks to remain dry, with highs of 21ºC.
