HRC test rider Stefan Bradl took to the track in Jerez alongside the World Superbike paddock before heading to the MotoGP pre-season test in Sepang.
HRC test rider, Stefan Bradl, took part in a two-day test at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto alongside the World Superbike riders.
Honda have already got preparations for 2019 underway with their test rider Stefan Bradl testing out the new bike. The German set the quickest overall time on day two with a 1:39.152, 0.008 seconds quicker than Jonathan Rea who set an impressive time on lap record pace.
Bradl took to Twitter and said it was a “really productive session” for the HRC team.
Next up for Bradl is the MotoGP Sepang test on February 6 as he replaces the injured Jorge Lorenzo.
During the Honda launch, Lorenzo spoke more about his injury he sustained in a dirt bike accident that is keeping him from taking part in pre-season testing.
He said: "[It] was my first day riding the bike, riding the dirt track in some Italian track.
"One mistake I did was to not properly check the track. In some zones of the track it was some bad mud - big mud - that was difficult to see. The surface [looked] perfect and dry, but instead it was this mud.
"When I entered this zone, the front closed, and I have a very stupid crash.
“Unfortunately, my wrist was not completely healed from the Thailand crash, so I didn't have the perfect mobility, and for sure this affected the pressure with the scaphoid a little bit, and the scaphoid was broken."
Bradl will take part in the pre-season test in Sepang alongside reigning champion Marc Marquez, who is currently recovering from a shoulder operation.
