Valencia GP | Marquez Tops the Final Warm Up of 2018
As the curtain begins to fall on a momentous 2018 racing season, Marquez topped the morning warm up session. A. Espargaro finished up 2nd, whilst Rossi was hot on his heels in 3rd position.
The #ValenciaGP is the final race of the MotoGP season, this year has given us thrills, unbelievable spills and our reigning MotoGP world champion, Marc Marquez. However, after a spill in yesterday’s Q2 session, the champion has only managed to qualify 5th. Viñales, who had to secure his Q2 spot by competing in Q1, qualified on pole position, ahead of Rins and Dovizioso. Highest-placed Independent Team rider, Petrucci heads the second row. Rossi, who found himself in Q1, qualified 16th on the grid, he will be looking to improve on this massively, for today’s race. Top KTM qualifier was P. Espargaro, who managed 6th on the grid.
Marquez topped the session with a time of 1:40:154. A. Espargaro closely followed in 2nd, with a time of 1:40:959, Rossi rounded out the top 3 with a time of 1:41:109.
Top Yamaha was Rossi in 2nd. Viñales set a time of 1:41:871 placing him 11th. Zarco, who set a time of 1:42:458, placed 16th. Contender for Rookie of the Year, Syahrin placed 20th with a time of 1:42:726.
Top Ducati was Petrucci finished morning Warm Up in 4th, setting a time of 1:41:168. Miller set a time of 1:41:183 which placed him 5th. Dovizioso placed 6th with a time of 1:41:573. Bautista, who will ride his farewell MotoGP race in front of his home crowd today, finished this morning’s warm up in 18th setting a time of 1:42:490. Ducati wildcard and test rider, Pirro set a time of 1:41:987, placing him 14th.
Top Suzuki was Iannone, who set a time of 1:41:809, placing him 10th. Rins set a time of 1:41:884 placing him 12th.
Top Honda was Marquez, who topped the session. Pedrosa, who is saying goodbye to a long and successful MotoGP career today, set a time of 1:41:966 placing him 13th. Contender for Rookie of the Year, Morbidelli, placed 7th, setting a time of 1:41:583.
Top KTM for this morning’s Warm Up was P. Espargaro with a time of 1:41:590, placing him 8th. Hot on his teammate’s wheels, Smith set a time of 1:41:795 placing him 9th.
Top Aprilia was A. Espargaro who finished the session 2nd. Redding set a time of 1:42:454 placing him 15th.
Top Rookie was Morbidelli in 7th position with a time of 1:41:583.
The weather for today’s race looks to remain overcast with showers throughout the day and highs of 16ºC.
