Dovizioso takes pole position for tomorrow's Japanese Grand Prix

Andrea Dovizioso will start in pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix tomorrow alongside Johann Zarco and Jack Miller.

Andrea Dovizioso takes pole position in fine fashion with a time of 1.44.590 at the Twin Ring Motegi for the Japanese Grand Prix.

Johann Zarco will start alongside him on the front row in second as will Pramac Duacti’s Jack Miller who qualified third despite having a crash at the end of the session.

In Q1 it was Alvaro Bautista and Takaaki Nakagami who took the top spots to have a go for the top 12 positions in Q2.

Cal Crutchlow finished top Honda in fourth place with Andrea Iannone in fifth and Marc Marquez takes sixth place and the last spot on the second row.

Both factory Yamaha’s qualified on the third row with Maverick Vinales in seventh and Valentino Rossi in ninth with the Suzuki of Alex Rins between them.

Bautista qualified 10th, Dani Pedrosa 11th and Nakagami in 12th and are all on the fourth row.

The two KTM’s start of Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro start on the fifth row along with Danilo Petrucci.

Hafizh Syahrin qualified 16th, Franco Morbidelli 17th and Karel Abraham in 18th.

Aleix Espargaro starts in P19 for tomorrow’s race alongside Katsuyuki Nakasuga in P20 and Scott Redding in P21.

Xavier Simeon is 22nd, Sylvain Guintoli 23rd and Jordi Torres in 24th.

Thomas Luthi is 25th.
