The session started on damp track but it was gradually drying out. For most of the session top teams like Yamaha, Ducati and Honda decided not to take unnecessary risks.

It was Frenchman Tech 3 rider Johann Zarco who opened the account on timing sheets after multiple attempts the most respectable time he did was 1:54.477, which remained on top until 15 minutes were left, he himself was the rider to beat that benchmark and go faster by almost 8 tenths to post a lap time of 1:53.728.

The earlier times were set on wet tires until Jack Miller of Pramac Ducati decided to mount the challenge on slicks. After going almost 3s slower than top time on his first run. He improved to top the time sheets with a 1:52.863, with multiple more improvements he finally settled on 1:49.022.

It was his own teammate who snatched the lead from him in the last minutes, but Pramac Ducati’s top show was short lived when Petrucci’s time of 1:48.939 was beaten Pedrosa’s 1:48.136 and Aprilla’s rider Scott Redding’s 1:48.635

Now after all these last attempts behind Danilo Petrucci settled his teammate Jack Miller and Johann Zarco after putting early show completed the top five.

Both Yamaha riders were on passive approach with not setting a time on slicks as conditions weren’t still good enough to beat their own FP1 time.

Ducati rider Dovizioso and Marc Marquez decided not to run at all joining them was Cal Crutchlow of LCR Honda along with Aleix and Pol Espargaro and Suzuki rider Iannone.
