#ThaiGP | Race Preview

Marquez reigned supreme last weekend at the Grand Prix of Aragon. Last weekend, Lorenzo made a rare mistake, costing himself valuable points. After a twitter spat and a very deep Instagram post, he has arrived in Thailand, ready to race. The Yamaha riders will arrive to Buriram looking to improve on recent race results, having had a good test at the Thai track.

Thursday’s press conference will see championship leader Marc Marquez, Andrea Dovizioso, Valentino Rossi, Andrea Iannone, Alex Rins and Aleix Espargaro discuss last weekend’s events at the AragonGP, and the challenges presented at this weekend’s first ever #ThaiGP. Marquez is the current championship leader, a whopping 72 points ahead of closest rival, Dovizioso. Rossi is currently 3rd in the standings, 15 points adrift from 2nd place, Lorenzo and Marquez round out the top 5.

The Chang International Circuit is a new addition to the Moto GP calendar, it is 4.55km, has 7 right turns and 5 left turns. The fastest man at the #ThaiTest was Pedrosa, with a time of 1:29:781. Zarco followed closely in 2nd with a time of 1:29:867. Marquez and Crutchlow placed 3rd and 4th respectively. Top Ducati for the test was Miller in 6th position.

This brand new track will be the first ever #ThaiGP in MotoGP history. Will Marquez claim victory on new territory, can the Bologna Bullets stamp their authority this weekend?

Friday is forecast to be raining with cloud cover and highs of 32ºC. Saturday looks to remain sunny, with little/no cloud cover and highs of 33ºC. Sunday looks to be sunny, with some cloud cover at times, and highs of 32ºC.
