Private Testing at MotorLand Aragon:

Before heading to San Marino, 5 MotoGP teams took a detour at Aragon for private testing. The two days test on Wednesday and Thursday was of prime importance for struggling Yamaha. Other teams which participated the tests include Ducati, Alma Pramac Racing, Suzuki Ecstar and KTM.

As with all private testing: definitive lap times were unavailable. Just like Misano Yamaha duo made a positive test and this test will give them a heads up for the bike setup at Aragon GP next month.

For the first day Yamaha riders and Alma Pramac Ducati Riders were on track on Wednesday and rest made appearance on Thursday. Both Suzuki and KTM have taken advantage of the two testing days available, with Moto2 Championship contender Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and teammate Brad Binder also on track.

Jonas Folger was also present, but only as a spectator which strengthens the rumors of him being appointed as test rider for Yamaha next year.

Reigning Champion Marc Marquez to take Pope Francis blessing:

Before the San Marino Grand Prix, Pope Francis will be meeting five MotoGP riders: Marc Marquez joined by Dani Pedrosa, Andrea Iannone, Petrucci, Miller and Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta.

They will be meeting at St. Peter Square Vatican, in an event organized in contribution with Italian Motorcycling Federation.

This wouldn’t be first time that Pope showed interest in two wheeled motors, on 110th anniversary of Harley Davidson he was presented with heritage Leather Jacket that was auctioned for charity.

A ‘Marquez’ can never ride for Yamaha…

In interview with Italian television Marc Marquez revealed that in 2016 Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis made him clear that A Marquez can never ride for Yamaha. At that time Marc Marquez’s brother Alex Marquez was linked with Yamaha for a seat at SIC Petronas. But head of project Lin Jarvis vetoed out of it.

"At Yamaha [the Márquez] we are not very well seen," he said with a laugh, but with a serious tone. ‘’Lin Jarvis has said that he will not see a Marquez on Yamaha, he already told me personally in 2016. I respect and accept him’’, added Marquez.

Silverstone to Refund:

After the cancellation of Race, Silverstone management made tweet right after stating that they are contacting bookers about the cancellation.

But the retrun of British GP next year is in serious thoughts as Dorna CEO suggests if Silverstone wants MotoGP next year they must resurface. As deals runs till the end of of 2020 Ezpeleta wants Silverstone resurfaced to continue beyond that.

I prefer to cancel a GP and not have to regret an accident, rather than the opposite. The fact is that the rain [on Sunday] was not huge, we raced in places where it rained a lot more, like in Japan last year. "We'll have to think if we name someone for when a track is resurfaced.” Ezpeleta said
