British GP | Vinales leads the pack in dry Warm Up
After a troubled qualifying yesterday, the Yamaha of Maverick Vinales goes quickest in the Sunday morning session at Silverstone. The Spaniard was the only rider to dip into 2'01.
Like the rest of the weekend track was covered with dark clouds above. Session begin with some hot laps from the Yamaha riders, who struggled to put in the lap together yesterday in Qualifying. Rossi was very upset about the pit box mishap Yamaha made yesterday.
For most of the session Vinales traded fastest lap times with Marquez, Vinales finally settled on 2’01.980, the only rider to dip into 2’01.
0.203 behind behind Vinales was Ducati of Dovizioso, who was further 0.367 ahead of championship leader Marc Marquez.
Pole sitter Lorenzo was not putting in the hot laps as his runs were more focused on race management. He managed Forth fastest time ahead of LCR Honda of Cal Crutchlow.
Number 46 Yamaha of The Doctor was down in Tenth place 1.094 adrift of his teammate’s top time.
There was no rain drops during the session and track was bone dry, if it rains during the race Teams and Riders will have troubles adjusting to it.
Bradly Smith of KTM crashed straight after the chequered flag and was carried back to pit by fellow rider Cal Crutchlow.
