Last weekend’s #CzechGP saw Andrea Dovizioso host a masterclass around the Automotodrom Brno. In a race of intelligence Dovizioso timed his attack to perfection, leading the race on a number of occasions, he knew he could be fast enough in the final laps to win the race. Jorge Lorenzo took 2nd place after a strong race and a last lap battle with Marc Marquez who took 3rd place. As the MotoGP riders travel to Austria this week, they arrive in the shadow of the Ducati riders.

As a relatively new track to a lot of the riders, the Red Bull Ring joined the MotoGP calendar in 2016. Andrea Iannone took his maiden MotoGP win, giving Ducati their first win since 2010, when he finished 0.938s ahead of teammate Dovizioso in 2016. Andrea Dovizioso took the win at last year’s Grand Prix, on his way to an increasing impressive championship campaign, which saw him finish 2nd to Marquez after crashing out of the Grand Prix of Valencia.

Marc Marquez leads the title chase by 49 points over Valentino Rossi. The chase looks to be for 2nd place in the championship, Rossi leads Dovizioso by 19 points as we head into the Austrian GPMaverick Viñales is 4th in title chase, with Jorge Lorenzo hot on his heels in 5th.

The current leader of the ‘Rookie of The Year’ standings is Hafizh Syharin, who leads Franco Morbidelli by 2 points.
