Dutch GP | Warm Up Results
Marc Marquez tops Warm Up ahead of today’s Motul TT Assen.
Yesterday’s qualifying session had everyone’s blood pumping, 11 riders within 0.501s. Marquez clinched his 75th Grand Prix career pole position, his first pole position of the 2018 season after being penalised at the Grand Prix of the Americas. Cal Crutchlow starts from 2nd on the grid, as top independent team rider, for the 2nd time this season. In 3rd position is Valentino Rossi, who has won at Assen 10 times before, including 2017 which was Yamaha’s last race win. Andrea Dovizoso heads the 2nd row, as the highest placed Ducati. Alex Rins qualified 5th, equalling his best ever qualifying result.
Marquez topped the warm up session with a time of 1:33:939. Dovizioso followed closely in 2nd with a time of 1:34:181. Viñales rounded out the top 3 with a time of 1:34:371.
Top Yamaha was Viñales in 3rd. Rossi set a time of 1:34:659 placing him 9th. Zarco placed 13th with a time of 1:34:760.
Top Suzuki was Iannone in 4th with a time of 1:34:407. Rins set a time of 1:34:761 placing him 14th.
Top Honda was Marquez topping the session. Pedrosa set a time of 1:35:090 placing him 18th. Nakagami was the fastest of the non-factory option Hondas, placing 12th with a time of 1:34:760.
Top KTM was Pol Espargaro with a time of 1:34:534 placing him 6th. Smith set a time of 1:34:777 placing him 15th.
Top Ducati was Doviziozo, who finished this morning’s warm up in 2nd. Lorenzo placed 5th with a time 1:34:475. Petrucci managed to set a time of 1:34:599, which placed him 7th. Miller placed 11th with a time of 1:34:740.
Top Aprilia was Aleix Espargaro setting a time of 1:34:783 placing him 16th. Redding set a time of 1:35:108 placing him 19th.
Top Rookie was Nakagami in 12th position with a time of 1:34:760
The weather for the Dutch Grand Prix looks to remain sunny, little/no cloud cover and highs of 25ºC.
