Cal Crutchlow will start from pole position for today’s race; the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto opened in 1985, the same year Crutchlow was born, yesterday he broke records to become the fastest rider to lap the track and the first British rider to take a premier class pole. Lining up alongside Crutchlow in 2^nd position will be Dani Pedrosa, who won last year's race at Jerez. Zarco will start 3^rd, his 8^th successive front row start, and he is also the highest placed Yamaha for the 2^nd time this year. Nakagami will start from 14^th position, making him Top Rookie in qualifying for the 2^nd time this year.

Marc Marquez lead the field in Warm Up this morning with a time of 1:38:687. With Iannone in 2^nd, setting a time of 1:38:888, making him the highest placed Suzuki, as he starts his race from 7^th position. Home hero, Pedrosa closely follows  in 3^rd, a small crash in the closing stages of warm up left his visibly frustrated. Top Rookie in morning warm up was Franco Morbidelli, who set time of 1:39:236, placing him 8^th.

The highest placed Yamaha in morning warm up was Zarco in 9^th position. The factory Yamaha’s of Viñales and Rossi finished Warm Up 12^th and 13^th, with some improvements to be made before this afternoon’s race.

The forecast for the race looks to be sunny with no cloud cover, and highs of 24ºC.
