Fabio Quartararo takes pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuito de Jerez with Franco Morbidelli and Jack Miller completing the top three.

In Q1 there was a strong contention for the top two spots to go through to Q2 - with the two Repsol Hondas, two factory KTMs and Morbidelli on the satellite Yamaha.

Morbidelli put in a quick lap on his Petronas Yamaha to take top spot in the session. Brad Binder joined the Italian into Q2 with 0.4 seconds away from the quickest time set.

In Q2, the Yamahas showed great pace with Quartararo, who won the double header at Jerez last year, looking the strongest.

He continued his fast pace throughout the session and managed to qualify in top spot with a 1.36.755.

His former teammate Franco Morbidelli continued his strong weekend and qualified alongside the Frenchman, just under 0.1 seconds off. Jack Miller qualified in third place and will start on the front row on his Ducati machine.
