Due to a crash suffered by Pramac Racing’s Jorge Martín during the FP3 session of the #PortugueseGP, he has had to undergo surgery at the Dexeus University Hospital today. The aim of the surgery was to correct fractures in his right thumb, right ankle and left tibial plateau.

Normally, Ducati test rider Michele Pirro would step up to the plate to replace any injured MotoGP Ducati rider. However, Pirro is set to take part in an important 2 day test at Mugello over April 29^th-30^th, in preparation for Ducati’s home race.

Tito Rabat will make his World Superbike Championship debut aboard the Barni Racing Panigale V4 R when the delayed 2021 season gets underway on May 21^st. The 2014 Moto2 World Champion spent 5 years in MotoGP, the last 3 of which were with Avintia Ducati. Rabat has been offered the opportunity to replace Martín for the #SpanishGP, with the option to continue to the #FrenchGP if necessary.
