MotoGP | Catalan GP | Quartararo wins and gets back championship lead as Dovizioso crashes in first lap!
Big shot from Fabio Quartararo, who wins Catalan GP while Andrea Dovizioso has been ruled out by Johann Zarco after just two corners. Joan Mir and Alex Rins bring Suzuki to the podium, Valentino Rossi crashed trying to catch Quartararo
Fabio Quartararo and Spain have a really good relationship. After being successful in the first two races of the season at Jerez de la Frontera, Frenchman gets back championship lead winning Catalan GP at the end of a stunning race from Petronas Yamaha SRT Rider.
New Championship Leader was pretty much perfect from the start where he managed Valentino Rossi and Franco Morbidelli really well before overtaking them leading the race until the chequered flag. Both Italians had a big moment in the middle part of the race: Morbidelli almost crashed at turn 1 but was able to stay up. Rossi did not have the same luck as he fell down at turn 2 while he was catching Fabio Quartararo.
Meanwhile, both Suzuki from behind started their furious comeback with Joan Mir catching Franco Morbidelli, but at the same time Alex Rins closed up the gap and made his podium move in the final stages of the race, forcing Morbidelli to close in 4th.
Fabio Quartararo won so the race and got back championship leadership as Andrea Dovizioso was ruled out at the start by Johann Zarco who took him off after just two corners. The French from Esponsorama Racing went a little bit too much on the brake to avoid Danilo Petrucci and fell down involving former championship Leader.
First Ducati who crossed the line is so Jack Miller ending ahead of his teammate Francesco Bagnaia, who made a stunning comeback starting from 14th on the grid. 7th Takaaki Nakagami ahead of Danilo Petrucci and Maverick Vinales.
Last GP winner had a poor start and was really behind in the first part of the race, but Vinales was still able to recover some good positions and score important points for the world championship. 10th after the chequered flag is Cal Crutchlow, while last riders to make points are Brad Binder, Aleix Espargaro, Alex Marquez, Iker Lecuona and Tito Rabat.
