Brad Binder and KTM are back on top with a solid performance in the first day of free practies in Misano. The South African made an impressive lap at the end of the day being able to be faster than one second compared to the time made during the morning. 2016 Moto3 World Champion is followed by Takaaki Nakagami, who brings Honda to top 3 in a really tough weekend for the Japanese crew. With Marc Marquez and Cal Crutchlow OUT, Honda had just three riders on the grid, but Stefan Bradl is forced to miss as well the incoming Grand Prix due to an arm injury.
Top 3 combined for Fabio Quartararo, who aims to redeem himself after Sunday's crash. Frenchman is just 16 thousandths of a second slower than the leader finishing ahead of Maverick Vinales and Pol Espargaro, who was able to be fast despite a small crash during the afternoon.
Franco Morbidelli - last GP winner - crossed the line in 6th but worked a lot on his race pace in the afternoon. The Italian did not have a good time in FP2, but his fast chrono in the first session of free practices put him on 6th combined at the end of the day. Same story for Joan Mir and Miguel Oliveira, who are 7th and 8h thanks to the lap made in the morning.
Last Q2 spots are taken provisionally by Danilo Petrucci and Johann Zarco, while Andrea Dovizioso, Francesco Bagnaia, Alex Rins and Valentino Rossi are out at the moment. These guys worked on their rhythm not trying a time attack and have to give everything tomorrow in FP3 to snatch an access to the last session of qualifying.
