MotoGP | Spanish GP | FP3 Results: Quartararo tops combined practice times
2019 Rookie of the Year Fabio Quartararo has been the quickest guy on track during the last session of free practice at Jerez de la Frontera; the French is followed by Miller and Mir, then Marquez and Vinales
Fabio Quartararo showed to be strong during his race simulation yesterday in the afternoon, but still missed a good time to obtain a Q2 access. The French did not have any problem on doing a fast lap this morning during FP3 as he topped the table at the end of the session being able to ride under the 1.37.
Petronas Yamaha SRT rider is followed by Jack Miller and Joan Mir, the only two guys alongside Quartararo capable to make a lap under 1.37. Both seemed to be strong in a single lap, FP4 will tell if they could be fast also during the race.
4th is Marc Marquez, but the Spaniard is under investigation as he impeded Alex Rins’ lap at the end of FP3. Suzuki rider was forced to abort his lap and finished 12th, out of Q2 and due to that, Marquez could have a penalty on the grid.
Maverick Vinales finished 5th, followed by Cal Crutchlow and an Italian poker. FP2 leader Franco Morbidelli had to find a spot into top 10 and ended in 7th, ahead of Valentino Rossi who went out of danger zone. Francesco Bagnaia and Andrea Dovizioso conquered last Q2 spots.
Pol Espargaro missed top 10 for thousandths and same Alex Rins and Danilo Petrucci, with the three who will be forced to make a really interesting Q1 session.
