We are just missing an official statement to be 100% sure to say it, but the same Valentino Rossi confirmed that he will be racing in MotoGP even in 2021 and probably 2022 as he is really close to end the deal with Petronas Yamaha SRT.

The Italian admitted it yesterday after Jerez’s test, saying that he missed a lot racing and during lockdown he thought about his future, coming to a conclusion: he wants to race and he will do it with Petronas where he will partner Franco Morbidelli.

“First of all, I heard that I have already signed the contract but it is not true – says Rossi – We are really close to do it, I want to keep racing and I have already spoken with Yamaha and Petronas. There are just some details on the line, but I can say that at 99% I will race with them next year”

Valentino gave another interesting news as he will sign for 2021 with an option to race in 2022 as well: “I did not like to go in Petronas doing just one year, so I told that to Jarvis and Yamaha. My contract will be for 2021 but I will have an option to race also in 2022. I will decide together with Yamaha about it in the next summer break”

What about the crew, which is one of the key aspect? “Me and Fabio (Quartararo) will change team, so there are some guys to move. This is why we need time to have everything at his place. Fabio will have to decide, I cannot do too much about it, surely David (Munoz, crew chief) will be in my team, then we will see”
