MotoGP is finally back and we had some action again at Jerez de la Frontera with a 1-day test before race weekend where riders could ride their bikes again after a long time. Some teams had new parts to try, while others had to test their new components after successful tests as Aprilia and KTM.

Honda and Yamaha brought something new to test and both Japanese Teams could be satisfied with the job done as Maverick Vinales ended first overall followed by Fabio Quartararo and Marc Marquez. This three guys are the main candidate to fight for podiums and victory alongside Andrea Dovizioso and it seems that all of three are in a good shape.

Andrea Dovizioso had to test his shoulder after his accident just a few weeks ago and it went quite well but surely Dovi did not push over the limits to do not stress his body too much. Andrea ended 19th in the morning and 12th in the afternoon being almost one second slower than the Vinales at the end of the day.

Dovizioso’s teammate, Danilo Petrucci, was really unlucky as he could not finish the test due to a crash during the second session of free practice of the day. The Italian fell due to oil released by Aleix Espargaro who forced a red flag as also Alex Marquez crashed without any consequence.

Petrucci went immediately for a medical check and was declared fit, but he could not come back on track to finish the day. The other Ducatis, especially Pramac’s ones, were fast, with Jack Miller 7th in the morning and Francesco Bagnaia 6th during the afternoon.

We also have the Reale Avintia Ducati of Johann Zarco, who made a good lap to end the day in 7th in FP2. The French is looking for a better seat next year and will try to shine during his new journey with Ducati where he hopes to make good performance after a tough 2019 with KTM.

Suzuki’s day was a good one also as Alex Rins and Joan Mir finished in top 5 in the afternoon, while Alex Rins was even second in the morning. Both seem to be in a really good shape and ready to fight yet for the podium positions on Sunday, but it is too early to make a prediction.

It was a positive test day for Aprilia as well, with Aleix Espargaro who figured out in top position, while his brother Pol Espargaro ended in 9th during FP2. Franco Morbidelli finished in top 10 in both sessions, being 9th in the morning and 10th in the afternoon.

Valentino Rossi had a good morning finishing in 3rd but he struggled a bit more in the afternoon as he finished 16th; probably the Italian tested something else or maybe he is just struggling more during the afternoon’s sessions.
