Pol Espargaro expressed a few times his desire to ride an Honda bike, saying that his style would suit perfectly for it. By the way, the Spaniard started a good job with KTM helping the Austrian manufacturer on developing the bike to express his maximum potential. His journey with KTM had also some memorable moments as he reached podium in the last MotoGP race of 2018 in Valencia.

The relationship between Pol Espargaro and KTM is coming to an end as the Spaniard is about to sign a two year contract with Honda HRC to become future Marc Marquez’s teammate until 2022. Not a great news for the Austrian Team that wanted to keep their four riders for the next season and now they probably have to search for another one to replace Pol.

It means also that Alex Marquez has no chance to prove Honda HRC to deserve his seat, but his destiny will still be linked with them; 2019 Moto2 World Champion should ride the LCR Honda with Factory support and will have the chance to compete in MotoGP in 2021. At this point, the real question is who is going to leave LCR: Cal Crutchlow or Takaaki Nakagami?

There are still a few MotoGP seats free, but not too much but we could extend the discussion to the riders. KTM will probably lose at the same time Pol Espargaro and Jorge Martin; the first one we said that he will join Honda, the second one is really close to end the deal with Ducati Pramac.

In the last weeks we talked about the possibility that Andrea Dovizioso could join KTM and probably the Austrian Manufacturer will try everything they can to bring the Italian to their team. Another crew that have to decide their plans for the future is Aprilia as we reported yesterday, but their fate is linked to Andrea Iannone’s one.

By the way, Honda hopes to announce Pol Espargaro before Jerez and the only certain thing is that MotoGP market is on fire right now with a lot of key decision to be made; Valentino Rossi has to decide his future, Andrea Dovizioso to stay or leave, Danilo Petrucci to Aprilia or WorldSBK, who is going to replace Pol Espargaro?
