Penultimate day of pre-season MotoGP test in Qatar saw Yamahas and Suzukis be really quick once again, with their riders who impressed everyone. A lot of teams and guys had something to try after the first day and surely the datas acquired will be useful for the beginning of the Championship. It was Fabio Quartararo the quickest overall for the second day, followed by Alex Rins and Maverick Vinales

As we said, Suzuki was really fast also in the second day with both Alex Rins and Joan Mir, who after being first and second on Day 1 finished in 2nd and 7th. The two Spaniards tried to get the best confidence over doing comparison between the parts they had to try: Rins said yesterday that they had a new chassis and it seems to be good for him.

Yamaha did not have any new part to try but kept working on the material brought to Sepang to improve their bike and competitivity. At this stage it looks like Iwata’s crew is feeling really well with all of his riders: the first one is Day 2 leader Fabio Quartararo who came back to the top, with Maverick Vinales not too far in 3rd, ahead of Franco Morbiedeli, while Valentino Rossi ended in 9th.

Day 1 was not an easy one for Andrea Dovizioso who crashed but felt good on the pace; the Italian had to try a new swingarm and he did the same today, over than the ‘holeshot 2.0’, fitted to all Ducatis as well expect Reale Avintia’s ones. At the end of the day, Francesco Bagnaia was the first Ducati on time sheet in 5th, followed by an astonishing Johann Zarco. Andrea Dovizioso ended in 8th, with Danilo Petrucci 12th.

Also Honda seemed to have an holeshot device or something similar as long as Marc Marquez’s bike had some new buttons who could be the holeshot system. Anyway, the World Champion is still suffering from his left shoulder but was able to make laps to develop the bike and be ready for the Championship, finishing the session in 14th; his brother and teammate Alex Marquez did not have an easy day once again and finished 19th.

What about Aprilia and KTM? After a stunning first part of Day 1, Aleix Espargaro was quick also in the second day, while his brother Pol with KTM was on second place in the middle part of the day, showing that both teams made progress but it is too early to say if it would be enough to be competitive for top positions. The two finished respectively in 11th and 13th.
