#MotoGP, Marc Marquez extends his contract with Honda HRC until 2024!
Honda made his move extending Marc Marquez’s contract until 2024, not giving any chance to the other teams of trying to make him an offer. Reigning World Champion will stay with Honda HRC for other four years
Nobody expected that to come that early, but Honda HRC made a crucial move on MotoGP grid extending Marc Marquez’s contract until 2024. Today came the official statement with reigning World Champion who will stay with Honda HRC for other four years. It seemed that we had to wait a little bit more for this kind of announcement but Japanese crew anticipated everyone by securing his jewel.
A surprising news that will not make happy Ducati as long as the Italian Team wanted to try to make an offer to Marc Marquez for the next seasons. With Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales already under contract with Yamaha and Alex Rins and Joan Mir both who seem to will stay with Suzuki even for 2021 season, Ducati has to think about their plans.
Anyway, this is how Marc Marquez expressed his feelings: “I am very proud to announce my contract’s renew with Honda HRC for the next 4 years. Honda gave me the opportunity to debut in MotoGP with a Factory Bike in 2013. We conquered a lot of victories and I am really happy to continue my journey with them. HRC has a lot of faith in me and extended our partnership to reach the goals we both want to achieve”
Also Yoshishige Nomura, HRC boss, expressed his satisfaction: “I am really happy to announce that Marc Marquez will stay with us even at the end of 2020 season. We started to talk about it a few months ago, as long as both parts wanted to stay together and win again. Marc started his career in 2013 in MotoGP and we won six of the last seven MotoGP titles. He deserved a special agreement because he is special”
