Only the huge crash of Friday could stop Marc Marquez from his eighth World Title, but luckily it did not happen with reigning World Champion who had the opportunity to end the Championship on Sunday in Buriram’s race. Everything went as planned, with the Spaniard from Honda who conquered his 4th consecutive MotoGP World Title at the end of a tough battle against Fabio Quartararo.

Marquez did not have an easy race even if he showed from the free practice a stunning race pace, but Fabio Quartararo was once again amazing and able to stay in front of him for the major part of the race since the start as happened in Misano were only a thrilling last lap gave to Marc the victory.

Reigning World Champion tried a move with 4 laps remaining at the outside, with Quartararo who defended his position at turn 3 not giving any chance to Marc to attack his victory. Anyway, we had the same story in another crazy thrilling last lap battle where Marquez made again his move at the outside at turn 3 being successful this time, but Fabio did not give up and tried a final overtake at the last corner, but went wide with Marc who had the chance to pass again to win for the second time in Buriram getting the big shot.

Behind them, Maverick Vinales gave everything to stay close to first two but had to give up in early stages of the race not having the same rhythm but still ended with another podium placement, a good one after missing it in Aragon; “Top Gun” consistency in the second part of the season is still remarkable and he made a great step up from the start of the year.

Andrea Dovizioso hoped to delay Marquez’s party but could not do anything with the pace showed from his rivals; Italian rider made a good start but was never able even to try a move on Maverick Vinales, ending on losing a lot of time from him being forced to end in 4th place. Title chances were so over, with Ducati guy who had to give up to Marquez; of course, the possibilities of Andrea were low, but surely Dovi wanted to do a good result in Buriram. At the end, Andrea had to fight against Alex Rins for that 4th place, with the Italian who won the battle against the Spaniard.

Also Franco Morbidelli had a good beginning but not enough pace to stay in top positions; Petronas rider stayed in top 5 for a while but lost grip and confidence lap after lap finishing in 6th. Not a bad result overall for the Italian who kept his consistency and same we can say for Joan Mir, with Spaniard rookie who crossed the line in 7th ahead of Valentino Rossi, who suffered again with his rear tyre losing time during the race.

Danilo Petrucci and Takaaki Nakagami closed top 10, while Francesco Bagnaia and Cal Crutchlow ended in 11th and 12th followed by Pol Espargaro and Andrea Iannone, with Miguel Oliveira who is the last rider to score points.
