#ThaiGP | Dovizioso Leads The Way Into Qualifying.
Dovizioso topped the timesheets after a morning of torrential rain and delays. Morbidelli impressed in 2nd, with Rins rounding out the top 3.
Torrential rain halted this morning’s FP3 sessions, meaning that the MotoGP class had reduced track time for FP3. However, this did not stop Dovizioso getting to grips with his Desmosedici GP19 in the wet around the Chang International Circuit, setting a time of 1’36.250. Morbidelli continued his impressive form from yesterday’s opening sessions, setting a time of 1’37.074, which placed him 2nd. Rins, who has shown impressive form over the last few rounds, placed 3rd, setting a time of 1’37.644.
A battered and bruised Marquez managed to set a time of 1’38.864, placing him 4th after a nasty spill in yesterday’s FP1 session. Viñales placed 5th, having set a 1’38.949, after an impressive opening day, he will look to carry this momentum forward through FP4 and into qualifying.
Abraham had a strong FP3 in the wet conditions, putting his Reale Avintia Racing Ducati 6th, setting a time of 1’39.057. Britain’s Crutchlow placed 7th, having set a time of 1’39.502. Mir followed closely in 8th, setting a 1’39’926.
Yamaha’s contender for Rookie of the Year, Quartararo placed 9th in the damp, with a time of 1’40.019. Whilst Oliveira rounded out the top 10 with a time of 1’40.152.

However, due to this morning’s session being a washout, none of the MotoGP riders managed to improve on their time from day 1. Therefore, the riders who will be going straight to Q2 will be the fastest 10 over the combined times from FP1, FP2 and FP3. Notable absentees from the direct path to Q2 will be Petrucci and Crutchlow, who will look to top the Q1 session, in order to gain entry to the Q2 session and fight for the front 4 rows of the grid for tomorrow’s #ThaiGP.
