On a sunny Saturday morning in Aragon, it was Marc Marquez who took top spot in the combined times over all three practice sessions after his stunning FP1 lap which was a 1.46.869.

There were no faster times set in FP3 due to damp track conditions. However, the sun was out, and the track was drying up by the end of the session.

Maverick Vinales was the closest to Marquez’ time, which was over a second, and finished second in the overall combined times. His teammate Valentino Rossi finished just behind him in third.

The young Frenchman, Fabio Quartararo was fourth overall on his Yamaha and Pol Espargaro continues KTM’s impressive run as he finished fifth and he goes straight through to Q2.

Jack Miller was sixth alongside Cal Crutchlow in seventh.

Andrea Dovizioso finished eighth on his Ducati, Joan Mir finished ninth on the Suzuki and Aleix Espargaro rounded out the top ten who go through to Q2.

Riders such as Alex Rins, Danilo Petrucci and Franco Morbidelli along with other top riders will have to go through Q1 and battle it out for the two places up for grabs as they try to get themselves into Q2 and in the battle for pole position.

The next session is FP4 and it gets underway at 13:30 circuit time.
