Last official days of testing were important for everyone, but especially for the teams and riders that are lacking speed and confidence from the rivals; that is why Valentino Rossi and Yamaha had a lot to ask from Misano, where both tried new things to reduce the gap from Honda and Ducati.

Despite a crash, the Italian is satisfied with the job done: “I am in a good shape despite the crash, unfortunately I am not 20 years old anymore but it is okay. I was worried before the tests as long as last year our speed was not so good here but now I am more optimistic. Being competitive in a track where last year we struggled a lot is quite positive. I think we can do a good race and we have a lot of Yamahas ahead”

It seems that Yamaha brought some good things to try and improve the bike: “Our pace was good, it was a positive test. We had a lot of things to try for this and next year: we improved grip and acceleration. Both carbon swingarm and exhaust were good for our bike improving it. Now is more stable with more acceleration and driveability. What about the front brake cover? It looks good and helps us on being faster!”
