First day of testing in Misano saw Fabio Quartararo on the top of the table in a really important session of test considering that a lot of teams had something to try and we saw Fabio Quartararo and Andrea Dovizioso coming back on track after the big crash they both suffered in Silverstone just after the first corner. The French was able to ride from the morning, while the Italian from Ducati went on track only during the afternoon.

Ducati had also tester rider Michele Pirro on track to try some parts concerning 2019 bike and 2020 as well, with Michele who worked in the development of the future Desmosedici GP for the next season. It was a positive day overall with Pirro who was fast in the morning despite not replicating the same pace in the afternoon. At the end of the day, Dovizioso ended in 12th, Petrucci 18th and Pirro 7th overall.

Also Honda had a lot of things to test with Marc Marquez who tried a carbon fibre on his bike over other parts alongside Stefan Bradl. It was an important test also for Jorge Lorenzo to get confidence back but ended the day way before 18:00 as long as he felt more pain. Overall, Marquez finished in 3rd with Bradl 22nd and Lorenzo who ended the afternoon without even going on track.

Maybe biggest news was on Yamaha side, with Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales who had a carbon swingarm and also a new exhaust that both riders coud even use during Misano weekend. It seems that they worked as long as Valentino and Maverick were competitive during the day with the Italian in 5th position just after his teammate.
First day was a really good one then for Fabio Quartararo of course and Franco Morbidelli as well, with the French who topped day 1 while his teammate was just behind him in 2nd with just 0.023s of gap.

A suprising KTM made his appearance in top 10 with his Factory riders; Pol Espargaro finished the day in 6th, with Johann Zarco who was not too far from his teammate in 8th. Misano’s Thursday was really important also for Suzuki riders, especially for Joan Mir, who came back from the injury that forced him to miss British GP. The Spaniard ended in 9th while last GP winner Alex Rins finished 15th fastest.
