#BritishGP | Fernandez Triumphs on British Soil, as Marquez Crashes Out!
Fernandez took a stunning win ahead of Navarro and Binder. Championship leader Marquez crashed out!
Championship leader Alex Marquez lead the race from lights out, as he got into his rhythm it seemed he couldn’t shake Navarro. An unforced error saw Marquez crash out, leaving Navarro in the lead on his own.
It seemed to be that Navarro had rode the perfect race, until Fernandez, Binder and Gardner closed the gap and battle began in the closing laps of the Moto2 race. Binder struggled for rear grip and could not give the challenge he felt he was capable of. However Fernandez smelt blood and gave Navarro the shock of his life when he cut to the inside at Club Corner, leaving Navarro 2nd.
As Navarro attempted to recover, it was clear Fernandez meant business. In the final sector Fernandez pulled just enough gap to leave himself comfortable for the victory.
Marquez remains the championship leader, by 35 points, ahead of Fernandez, Luthi and Navarro who all sit on 146 points heading to Misano.
