It was a busy Q1 in Moto2 with the KTMs who needed to find a spot into the last session of qualifying, but at the same time there were a lot of riders aiming for top 4, especially Marcel Schrotter and Stefano Manzi who tried their best to get the access to Q2, with the German who desperately needed it after a tough weekend.

At the end both of them were able to get it, with Schrotter who led the first session of free practice, an expected result overall, and Stefano Manzi did the same finishing in 4th despite a late last fast lap ruined by Jorge Martin with the Italian who surely was not happy with that, but of course he was fine when he knew he got top 4.

Also 2 KTMs found a way to take part of Q2, with Brad Binder who finished 2nd being just 0.027s slower than Schrotter, while Iker Lecuona qualified himself in 3rd snatching the access to Q2.

Alex Marquez then made a stunning and maybe unexpected lap to snatch pole position from Jorge Navarro’s hands. Everyone was expecting SpeedUp rider to be on pole position after a great weekend, but championship leader did not agree and made an incredible lap to obtain another pole position, a fantastic chance for him to increase the leadership tomorrow. First row also for Augusto Fernandez, 3rd and slower than just two tenths of a second, while his teammate is living a nightmare as long as Lorenzo Baldassarri could not go over 18th position.

Remy Gardner is really fast but could not reach first row but he will still start from 4th ahead of Xavi Vierge and Luca Marini, who surely wants to redeem himself after the crash in Austria where he involved Enea Bastianini who suffered an injury due to that and will miss British GP.

Third row is composed by Tetsuta Nagashima, Brad Binder and Sam Lowes, with the three who are ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio who is the last rider in top 10; a good result overall for the Italian but maybe he wanted more, especially after the great pace showed yesterday in the first session of free practice. 11th is Nicolò Bulega followed by Tom Luthi: not the best session for the Swiss who suffered also a little crash at the end.
