Suzuki’s weekend starts in the worse way possible as long as one of their rider, Joan Mir, is forced to miss the Austrian GP due to a crash had on Monday during Brno Test. The Spaniard crashed at turn 1 with Joan who will miss then this weekend’s myWorld Motorrad Grand Prix von Osterreich.

It was a high-speed crash in which the rookie required assistance on the track and then he was transferred to the circuit’s Medical Centre. Mir does not have major injury but he suffered a pulmonary contusion that required him to be transported to the Brno Hospital, where first diagnosis was confirmed.

Anyway, Suzuki and Mir decided to do not take any more risks preferring to have more time to fully recover and coming back stronger in Silverstone, missing so the Austrian GP at Red Bull Ring. Alex Rins will be so the only Suzuki on track for this weekend with Mir who will be ready and fit to race for British GP.

We have news also on Moto3 side as long as Gabriel Rodrigo is forced to miss Austrian GP too due to the crash he had during FP2 in Brno in which the Argentinian suffered a double fracture (right collarbone and pelvis), with Gabriel who was operated by Dr. Mir with a successful result but will stay out of a track for a while. Gresini Racing decided to replace him with Jeremy Alcoba, who is actually competing in FIM CEV Repsol where he is the championship leader; in this season Jeremy won one race and finished five times on the podium.
