Andrea Dovizioso needed a positive result after hard times and Italian rider was able to obtain that coming back to the podium, with Ducati rider who thought in the first part of the race that victory could have been possible. Unluckily for him, Marquez kept the pace in the second part of the race and Dovizioso was not able to.

A positive result overall for Andrea: “I gave everything at the start, I was able to be second after the first corner and that was good. Marc was faster in T2 and T3, I had more pace in T1 and T4 and I tried to use advantage until I could. I was struggling a lot on the left side and Marc could make stronger braking than me, that was how he was able to kept the pace”.

Tyres’ degrade were the main thread of the race: “Degrade was high, but the same more or less for everyone. What made the difference was that Marc kept the pace because he did not go any faster in the second part of the race. This year Honda improved a lot on the acceleration, while we are still strong on acceleration and top speed, but we miss something”.

Surely it is a totally different season than last year and Dovi knows it really well: “I do not know how competitive Honda is, but of course it is a different season than 2018, we cannot make any comparison. I hope that tomorrow during the test I could improve my feeling with the bike. Marc is having a special year, even more than previous one. We are strong but we miss something to fight with him. Today we did a perfect race but was not enough”
