#CzechGP | Fabio Di Giannantonio tops Moto2 FP2
The Italian from SpeedUp is the fastest rider on track so far in a Moto2 FP2 that was more similar to a session of qualifying due to rain predicted for Saturday; Fabio is ahead of Nicolò Bulega and Nagashima
As happened for Moto3 and MotoGP, even Moto2 FP2 was a crucial session for the direct access to Q2 due to rain predicted for Saturday sessions. Everyone had so to push even over the limits to achieve top 14.
Surely a better session for championship leader Alex Marquez, who struggled a lot in the morning but ended in 2nd in second session of free practice in which he seemed to have more feeling than FP1; not the same story for Lorenzo Baldassarri, with the Italian from Pons who finished in 13th but more fast than first session of free practice. Better sensations for his teammate, Augusto Fernandez, who closed in 5th with the Spaniard being again fast.
Hard times on the other hand for Mattia Pasini; the Italian performed really well in FP1 in his comeback but crashed during early stages probably due to a contact with Odendaal of the session without any chance to come back on track; not the best scenario for him and Tasca Racing Scuderia Moto2 who needed more feeling, even if Mattia is looking really strong. Anyway, Pasini is still in Q2 with combined times.
Solid afternoon for Nagashima, who keeps the pace showed during the morning ending in 3rd the second session of free practice, while Enea Bastianini is again in Q2 with Italtrans rider who managed to put his bike in 12th position. Things went much better for Nicolò Bulega, who looks really well in Brno for the moment as long as Sky Racing Team guy finished FP2 in 2nd position, while his teammate Luca Marin was 10th.
Strong session for Dynavolt riders, with Marcel Schrotter 3rd and Tom Luthi 6th, with the German who led the session for a while. A good FP2 also for SpeedUp duo; Fabio Di Giannantonio went on top in the final stages of the session and ended leading the package being the fastest rider on track so far, while Jorge Navarro finished 8th.
Sam Lowes managed to get 9th time, while Brad Binder was not fast as he was during the morning but still able to get 11th position, while his teammate Jorge Marin is struggling a lot with Spaniard rookie being 22th. Things went even worse for Ekky Pratama who was declared again unfit to race.
