#GermanGP | Marquez takes his 10th pole at Sachsenring!
It is again Marc Marquez who leads the way at Sachsenring taking his 10th pole position in German soil ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales
Reigning World Champion is on fire at Sachsenring and gets his 10th pole position in German soil ahead of Maverick Vinales and Fabio Quartararo. The Spaniard thanks to his 1.20.215 was able even to break the record in a qualifying full of twists.
First session of qualifying saw Rossi taking the direct access to Q2 avoiding another nightmare with a last run with soft tyre. Nine-time world champion went out of the box during his first exit with the harder compound signing first position but was then able to improve his lap time and going into Q2 being the only rider to go under the 1.21 despite a little crash in the final minute of the session.
Compatriot Andrea Dovizioso did not avoid the nightmare too despite a good lap in his second run where he snatched for a while second position from Aleix Espargaro and Stefan Bradl, who both tried everything but the real surprise was Takaaki Nakagami who got second place in his last attempt with a fantastic crono.
After a thrilling Q1, Marc Marquez made immediately an impressive rhythm with a lot of fast laps not giving any chance to his rivals. Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales tried everything they could to stop him but they had to give up and ended in 2nd and 3rd.
Good qualifying also for Alex Rins, 4th ahead of a great Jack Miller, first Ducati on time sheet followed by Cal Crutchlow who closes second row. 7th place for Franco Morbidelli, last rider going under the 1.21, with Pol Espargaro and Joan Mir just behind. Not the best session for Valentino Rossi, who did not improve his Q1 lap time and finished 11th, while Danilo Petrucci crashed in his best lap and ended in 12th, with Nakagami in front of the two Italians.
