#DutchGP |Viñales Tops Day 1 at Assen.
Viñales topped the FP2 session of the #DutchGP, leaving him as the fastest man at the close of day one. In 2nd position, Quartararo continued his success. Petrucci completed the top 3.
Monster Energy Yamaha rider Viñales topped the FP2 session of the Dutch GP weekend, with a time of 1:32:638. Following closely in second was fellow Yamaha rider and contender for Rookie of the Year, Quartararo, who set a time of 1:32:818. In 3rd position was Petrucci who set a time of 1:32:952.
This afternoon’s FP2 session left Monster Energy Yamaha’s, Viñales top of the timesheets. Quartararo continued to impress, showing pace throughout both sessions, finishing 2nd. Rossi set a time of 1:33:517, placing him 9th, an improvement from FP1 and positive steps being made for tomorrow. Morbidelli set a time of 1:33:963, placing him 14th.
Petrucci, who has shown stunning form over the last 3 races, placed 3rd, maintaining his early morning pace. Fellow Missow Winnow Ducati rider and championship contender, Dovizioso, placed 4th, setting a time of 1:33:223. Ducati’s contender for Rookie of the Year, Bagnaia set a time of 1:33:815, placing 11th. Reale Avintia’s Abraham placed 12th, with a time of 1:33:854. 2016 DutchGP race winner, Miller found himself in 13th position, having set a time of 1:33:874. Rabat found himself down in 18th, setting a time of 1:34:370.
Rins continued to build a strong base for qualifying, placing 5th, with a time of 1:33:305. Rookie of the Year contender, Mir placed 8th, with a time of 1:33:415.
The fastest Aprilia was Iannone with a time of 1:33:355, in 6th, after a small off a the end of the session, he walked away unscathed. A. Espargaro placed 19th, with a time of 1:34:537, Espargaro is currently nursing a leg injury from a crash at the #CatalanGP.
The fastest Honda for the FP2 session of the Dutch GP was current championship contender, Marquez who placed 7th, with a time of 1:33:413. Britain’s Crutchlow placed 10th, with a time of 1:33:727. Nakagami placed 16th, after setting a time of 1:34:040. Repsol Honda’s Lorenzo suffered a crash in FP1, he took a knock to the head and was sent to hospital for further examination. He has been declared unfit for the #DutchGP.
Top KTM for FP1, was P. Espargaro with a time of 1:33:971, placing him 15th. Zarco placed 17th, with a time of 1:34:194. Oliveira found himself in 20th position, having set a time of 1:34:628. Syahrin placed 21st, with a time of 1:35:250.
Top Rookie this session was Quartararo in 2nd position, he will aim to improve this over tomorrows FP3 and FP4 sessions to secure a solid grid position for Sunday’s #DutchGP.
